A LockFlare account is free forever and comes with server licenses the day it is created. There is no trial clock, no seat math and no feature tiers: every Vigia server gets everything, and every person on your team can use it.

Every account includes free server licenses for LockFlare Vigia: security setup, system setup, backups, the packages, the databases, the clusters — the whole product on each of them, with no card and no end date.
$99 a year past the free ones
A server license is one IP address for one year. Paid securely with Stripe; the key is issued the moment the payment clears. Up to twenty addresses can be licensed in one checkout.
Consoles are not counted
A server added as a console — a box Vigia is a terminal to, with the shell, files, tunnels, snippets and history — needs no license and does not count. Only what Vigia does to a box as root is licensed.
Unlimited seats
We license servers, not people. Put Vigia on every computer your team uses, give each person their own key, hand out roles from the Team chair — nobody at LockFlare counts seats, because nobody at LockFlare can see them.
Zero trust in the path
No LockFlare service stands between you and a server. Every session is your own SSH login, checked by that server's sshd; every root action is your own sudo. A license is a signed key opened on your computer, never a call to us.
Zero knowledge, on our end
LockFlare holds exactly two things: the email on your account and the IP addresses you license — the address only so the license can be reissued. We do not know what that server is: not its name, its operating system, its provider or what it runs. No card details either; payments go straight to Stripe. How that works.

How a license behaves
It is a key for one address
Issued at lockflare.com for the IP address you declare, signed by LockFlare, and carrying the address inside it. Vigia opens it on your computer and checks the signature there. Nothing is sent anywhere.
It is bound to your key
A server license is issued to the Vigia key that asks for it — open the page from Vigia so it knows which key is asking — and only that key accepts it. Licenses from two accounts can never be pooled onto one map.
Leaving a server credits you
Remove a paid server permanently and its remaining licensed days are credited to your account; the next server you license past the free ones runs on them instead of a payment.
Or the license moves with you
Remove a server and add another, and the license — with its remaining time — moves to the new address. A paid license mid-term is renewed on the way.
Renewal opens before it ends
A free license renews for free while you have a free slot; a paid one renews for another year on top of what is left. Renewing early loses nothing.
Lost keys are re-issued
A server already on your account gets its key issued again — same address, same expiry — and the worst day is covered by recovery.

Roles and members are part of the console. No seats.
